III NATIONAL CONGRESS ON COMPANY LAW:

SHAREHOLDERS’ RIGHTS

 

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Organising Committee of the III National Congress on Company Law, which will be held 7 – 8 February 2019, at the University of Málaga, invite research papers.

Those who are registered for the Congress can submit a research paper necessarily on the central topic of the Congress, i.e. SHAREHOLDERS’ RIGHTS.

We invite you to submit an extended abstract two to five pages long before 30 November 2018 to congresosociedades@uma.es. The paper proposal, apart form the extended abstract, should have a short summary of approximately 20 lines of text, the name and affiliation of the author (e.g. Solicitor in Las Palmas, Auditor in Lugo, Town Hall Secretary in Albacete, Professor at the Universtity of Cantabria, Commercial Registrar in Alicante, Notary in Barcelona, Judge in Seville, Economist in Ibiza, Interventor in Badajoz ...). The file with the paper proposal should be named with the author`s surname in capital letters, and the first letter of the name, e.g. GALACHO BOLAFIO.A.doc

As in the previous editions, the accepted papers of the authors REGISTERED at the Congress will be published in a book by one of the most prestigious publishers in the legal field. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to exclude a final full paper which does not meet the levels of quality and originality required.

STYLE GUIDELINES

The full version of the papers submitted should follow the guidelines below:

Software: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Name of the file: The file should be named with the surname and the first letter of the author’s name, with no punctuation mark, e.g. “GALACHO ABOLAFIO,  A.doc”

Language: Spanish or English

Length: maximum of 20 pages, including final bibliography list

 

FORMAT:

Title: The first page should contain the title, in Times New Roman, size 12, capital letters, bold, centred, single-spaced

Author: After the titles the autor is to be indicated, aligned to the right, in Times New Roman, size 12, italics, single-spaced

SUMMARY: The main text should be preceded with a summary (contents list) of the sections and sub-sections of the paper, with a format according to their level.

I.- LOS DERECHOS DEL SOCIO. 1.- Derechos políticos. 1.1.- Derecho de información. 1.2.- Derecho de voto. 2.- Derechos económicos. 2.1.- Derecho al dividendo. 2.2.- Derecho de suscripción preferente. SECTIONS and SUBSECTION:

The text is to be divided into sections. Each section should follow the formatting rules below:

  • First level sections’ titles are to be numbered with Roman numerals in capital letters followed by a full stop, and are to be in capital letters and in bold, in Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Second level subsections’ titles are to be numbered with Arabic numerals followed by a full stop, and are to be in lowercase letters and in italics, in Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Third level subsections’ titles are to be numbered with the second level subsection number followed by the third level subsection number (e.g. 1.1.), and are to be in lowercase letters, in Times New Roman, size 12.
  • We discourage the use of lower level divisions, however if necessary, they should follow the same format as the third level division and be numbered with a letter (e.g. a), b), etc.).

 

Example of the divisions:

FONT SIZE AND STYLE AND LINE SPACING: The text of the paper should be in Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1,5, justified. Footnotes: Times New Roman, size 10, singe-spaced, justified.

 

PAGE MARGINS: Top and bottom: 3 / left and right: 3.

 

BIBLIOGRAPHY:

 

Both in the footnotes and in the final bibliography list, the citing format is the following:

 

Books:

- EMBID IRUJO, J.M.  Sobre el derecho de sociedades en nuestro tiempo. Granada. 2013

 

Journal articles and book chapters:

At the end of the paper, the cited bibliography should be listed (in letter size 10) following the format indicated above.

References to Web pages should be listed at the end of the final bibliography list.
